Blending the rawness of the human experience with a playfulness and innocence, Banded Starling engages its listeners with authenticity and elegantly crafted folk kissed with an alternative flair.

Theis is an indie pop songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Somerville. Her work is influenced by her roots in Indiana, her relationships, and the inspiration of tough and tender female artists. Her gentle but assured vocals are the perfect delivery for the duality in her writing: confidence and doubt, frustration and joy, sadness and humor.
